For those interested, we have uploaded some videos of coop games we played about a year ago. They are available as torrents, so you can select individual videos for downloading once loaded in your bittorrent client. More will follow.

Hi Zenda!

Very nice of you to offer us the possibility to learn from your games. However, why are the torrents so big (9+ GB)? . I would really like to download them, but I get no seeds...
Could you encode the vob files to x264 and upload them on Rapidshare or Megaupload?
Would be great.

Hello Requiem,

These videos do not show 'perfect' games. ArthurDent does a fine job, but you'll see me making many mistakes. The games do show many different tactics, typical Dark features, and how enjoyable some nice coop can be.

We will make smaller files in the future, but we have no plans to convert these files, or to use anything else but torrents.

I haven't been able to seed the last few days, but will continue to do so within a few days.

I'm looking forward to the videos but I have a slight problem with the torrent. The tracker at torrentbox.com blocks US-based IP's so I have to pick up seeds/peers via DHT. I have the torrents loaded on my server and can seed at high speeds so if you could create a new torrent with an additional tracker that would be great, then I could seed to anyone wishing to download.

Until then, anyone technically savvy with torrent clients can manually add the peer: 66.135.55.203:17511

Also, if Zenda doesn't mind, I could mirror the videos over HTTP once I finish downloading them.

Hello,

We tried a different method, and managed to create much smaller video files (of same or better quality).

The Dark 5.3 (2008) Test Game Video

This torrent uses several trackers that are not blocked to US addresses. Size is 610 MB, but the video is split in smaller parts as a result of the capturing process. We will see how we can avoid this for future files.

The game itself is not special, just a Bard and Barbarian trying to overcome Hell/Hell without Evasion (Bard) and Haste (Barbarian)

That's no problem, being a newbie, I am sure it will be very helpful for me. I am anyway very interested in the Bard, so this is quite a gem for me.
I am downloading from you right now. Is the 610 MB version the same as the the other torrents (GB+) torrents?
May I upload them to Rapidshare/Megaupload afterwards?
Would be a blessing for other users, which will get the files in no time!

This is from a recent game, testing revision 53B. I have looked into converting the other files, but found no easy (and reliable) way.

You can upload and distribute if you want, but I don't like any profits made of it (that includes advertising sites). Personally, I think torrents is the best method for distributing this type of files. Torrents can get real fast too, if more people join in.

Sorry for not getting back sooner on this.

The torrents are DHT enabled, so you should be able to download them anyway. I've tried adding that IP address somehow but I'm not enough 'technically savvy with torrent clients', unfortunately. Do you still think it's worthwhile creating new torrents with other trackers?

I'm not seeing any seeders. I'll keep seeding when I grab it, and my comp is on most of the time.

You will see an Archer (warriors who only use bows) and Barbarian, doing Hellmode levels 13 and 14.

The video's from 2006 and 2007 are no longer being seeded.

Thanks for the new torrents, they are working great.

Also, I did manage to get the older ones to work with DHT, but as I understand it the new ones are to replace them?

In any case I will leave them seeding for a while on my server, so anyone downloading should get them fairly quickly (atleast anyone US-based, not sure how speeds to other parts of the world are.)

I'm looking forward to seeing the new videos!

The new ones are not the same video, but it seemed better to discontinue the old and huge ones. All I did was stop seeding, and remove the torrents from the Torrentbox list, btw. If there are requests, I could pick it up again. I'd prefer someone telling me how to convert VOB files on CD to smaller AVI or WMV on HD, though
